I am 26 years old and always had difficult pms. In fact, I have been researching PMDD, and I feel like I fit into that catergory. I have also always had problems with anxiety/panic, but most times I can calm myself down before they get out of control( with help from effexor, too). I have only found information on some anxiety being associated with pms, but I'm still having difficulty getting more information. The amount of panic/anxiety before my period is so out of control that it interferes with everything including work. I am soo scared of people, and my heart races just thinking about leaving the house. I am unable to cope with anxiety/panic during this time!! I want to know if anyone else experiences this and if so, how do you cope? Is there a medical explanantion that a doctor can help without thinking that I am a nut case? I feel like I am losing my mind every month- please help!

You are not crazy, and you don't need anti-depressants!
There IS a physical explanation...

The zinc and copper levels imbalance that occurs is the primary mechanism why PMS causes women to convert mild irritation to out and out rage. When the zinc and copper is out of synch, it is an automatic thing that happens in the brain, you truly go mad. It's not a weakness on your part it's the copper and zinc. Natural Progesterone helps to restore that balance, estrogen makes it worse.

I have read some litterature about panic attacks. But they allways seem to have a more scientific approach and that is nothing I need in my struggle to survive those horrible panic attacks. This is a "hand on" and very practical book. I felt it was written to me. I am sure that you are going to feel the same.

Joe Barry writes exactly how I think. The examples are perfectly described. And the method is genius. I recommend this book and thanks Joe Barry for writing it. It changes your life

Anxiety and panic are usually associate with your Period. It is due to the hormonal changes and physical changes that you are going through. It is not a problem, so you don't have to look for solutions. But if you are really scared to get out of the house and things like that, please go see a counsiller. That will help to calm you down.

You are not t a nut case... Panic attacks and anxiety is a terrible thing. Alcohol, smoking, caffenine, cuz major aniexty. Maybe you should watch that. If that is not it, just try and do meditation, exercise and yoga just to some of that negative feeling.
