I have found what I sought, but find I am weighed down by my possessions. They aren't valuable to anyone but me. However, each item carries with it a token of memory. I cherish them because I cherish my life and they are a part of it. I can't bear to part with them, so, there they are, encumbering me and complicating my life

i wish i knew what you mean exactly. Simple as in, socially? intellectually (you feel you can't take a simple answer for an answer), sexually? materially?
If you had a specific question, this question would be so fun to answer.
But at times in the past, I've felt I've hated simplicity only because I was determined I was complex. But now, all I really seek is simplicity in adornment (almost no makeup), \no jewelry worn, no hair sprays, simple and neat clothing without too many straps, technology that makes life easier (laptop, palm, mp3 player, and 3-in-one printer), wireless capacity, organized and neat, never carry money, don't wanna date any body, but just chill, enjoy life and the arts, and keep a positive mood (negativity is not simple).
Not recently, but a while ago, and have come to like it because I feel in control and I can keep a detailed, meticulous track of my life and where its headed!

I feel that way... I live in L.A. so life is anything but simple... I want to slow down and enjoy life instead of rushing through it. At this rate, I will have so much to do that I will never be able to die! I'm moving to another state with a smaller-town feel but still not too removed from the conveniences that I'm used to. That's how I'm resolving that.

I live a very simple life. I sometimes feel I have just a few things in it, one being work, the other books, my cats and one more thing.

I long for a simpler life...I'm sick of having to deal with people who think that the run of the mill 9-5 day is the only way to live. I want a simpler and quieter life, but it seems like you need money to even start to simplify things.

I think it's important to have "maneuverability." But, because you want a simple life does not automatically mean you will be trapped by it.
