The doctor has prescribed these to her by the way.

As long as her doctor KNOWS that shes pregnant, I would assume he wouldn't prescribe percoset if it had any known harmful effects. But I'd still get a second opinion. A second medical opinion, that is...not one from Yahoo Answers.

I'm surprised to hear you say her Doctor prescribed perkisets. I have had severe migraine headaches, and terrible back pain throughout my entire pregnancy. ( I am only 23 weeks pregnant) I have been to the ER for my migraines and the only thing they say they can give is Tylenol or low dosages of Demerol. Until you are well within your second or third trimester Demerol is even very risky to the baby. I have had to SUFFER tremendously. I am unfamiliar with what is all in perkiset but if it contains any kind of blood thinner or anti-inflammatory it is definitely not safe for her to be taking, along with any kind of codeine. I would call a few pharmacist's and ask them some questions to be sure. Good Luck :)

If her doctor has prescribed it, then the doctor must have determined that the risk of the meds is less than the risk of having her continue to suffer whatever pain she is in. (All meds carry some risk.)

If she doesn't trust her doctor on this, she should look for another. There is a time coming where she may need to make a serious decision (very quickly) based solely on what her doctor advises.

I wouldn't take those; I have a heart condition and I'm not allowed to take such strong medication; I can't imagine a pregnant lady taking them. Get a second opinion! By the way, if she's having terrible pain, that's not normal. Change doctors right away.

I don't think that taking anything is safe. Medication while pregnant is a no no, but if the doctor said so then I guess it's ok if she's having pain.

Absolutely not. Consult a doctor and also make sure her diet is well. It is very important to eat properly during pregnancy that could be one of the causes of her pains.
She should have a scheduled diet on daily basis.

He may have prescribed it but I wouldn't take it. If the pain is that terrible then something is wrong and she needs to find what.

She should contact her OB prior to taking Percocet. Typically severe pain would warrant Vicodin or Tylenol 3.

NO. She needs a new doctor. She could be causing severe brain damage to the baby.

NO!! No narcotic pain meds are okay to take....duh...its a narcotic.

Tylenol 3 (with codeine) is safe if the doc. prescribes it...that's about it.

i can't believe he would prescribe percocets....
