Their new found love of Jesus is a political stunt and not a very good one. The Democrats have been bashing religious people for the past six years and now they want their votes.

I seriously doubt there are too many Christians who believe in the liberals new faith.

I am a democrat, also a christian.I don't believe in gay marriage or abortions just for the ease of getting rid of a burden.I do believe in them for, incest, rape, endangermeant of mothers life.I believe in helping the poor, trying to restore the good jobs lost during the bush administration.Stopping, slowing down global warming.Accountability in govt. which there is none of right now.Restoration of the constitution.Doing away with the tax breaks for the rich.I'm for people not being afraid to speak in the land of the free.Restoring the geneva convention doing away with the terrorist detainee bill that also removes our own freedoms.Getting rid of our over 8 trillion dollar debt (since bush took office.) Basically trying to restore the UNITED STATES to it's former state.Concentrating terroism resources where they are truly needed. Not sell our ports to foreign countries.Etc.Etc.Many Democrats are Christians.

Its for votes....
WASHINGTON (AP) - Sen. Barack Obama chastised fellow Democrats on Wednesday for failing to "acknowledge the power of faith in the lives of the American people," and said the party must compete for the support of evangelicals and other churchgoing Americans.

"Having voluntary student prayer groups using school property to meet should not be a threat, any more than its use by the High School Republicans should threaten Democrats."

about as sincere as they are about their campaign promises, their promise of inclusion for all people and that they are here for the downtrodden and oppressed....yeah, ask kerry how much he gave to charities over the years, how many of his mansions has he sold to help the homeless and to top that all off how many of the democrats do you see supporting our troops and america...no, they are doing nothing but complaining and tearing down this country.they are only sincere about filling their pockets and alienating the common man while they deflect the attention to the republicans so they can continue to steal and cheat us, this sudden enlightenment is in response to the fact they ran some polls and found out that the majority of citizens in the u.s. believe in god, now the problem is which god do they back...watch some will claim to believe in all of them...they GOT to cover all the bases, you know.

Ultimately their relationship with Christ is between them and the Lord. However, by strict interpretation of the scripture and evidence of their "fruit" they are definitely not living the life of a Christian.

your question implies that the republicans represent the views of Christians. My christian upbringing taught me the Jesus stood for love and that it is how we treat our enemies that define us. At the moment, we have a R. president that stands for nothing short of genocide for terrorists, wouldn't Christ be proud.
