At the moment I only have a small square of hair down there, but I did recently have a latex mould made of my genitals for an art project. Anyway I generally find that aesthetically I prefer there to be a reasonable quantity of hair - not a huge thatch going from navel to knees, but a nice triangle is great.
In actual terms of functionality don't find that the hair makes any difference. I don't mind sex with a shaven or an unshaven person.
I would recommend keeping at least some hair just so people will know that you actually have the ability to grow some down there!
