Many, many people think so, I'm not sure if she was myself, but if you look around online you can see evidence for both sides.
Like, did you know that Diana was actually alive after the crash? There's actually a photograph of her in the car after the wreck with her eyes open. And people say she would have lived if the ambulance wouldn't have driven so slowly and passed several hospitals on the way. It's really interesting to research, you should check it out.
If she was, I'd say it was definately by the royal family's request. There's rumors that she was going to marry that Dodi guy, or was possibly pregnant with his child, Charles wanted to remarry, or even just she was supporting Palestine. I dunno the truth, I wish I did :o I listed one site to give you some theories and evidence and such, but look around google and you'll find tons!
So far that I know of, it's been declared just a tragic wreck. There's rumors the driver of her vehicle was drunk, I dunno if that turned out to be true or not.

Diana died for the same reason countless people die every year. The driver of the vehicle was drunk and she wasn't wearing a seat belt. Also, Dodi pushed the driver to go at highly unsafe speeds just so some photographers wouldn't get pictures of Diana. They've taken millions, what's a few more? It was a senseless tragedy. You can believe all the conspiracy theories you want but the driver was far beyond the legal limit of intoxication and everything else about the car ride and crash revolves around that.

No she wasn't. She was killed in a car accident that's been proven time and time again. However it is in the interest of the media to keep the ridiculous conspiracy theory alive so as to sell more newspapers, magazines and TV programmes so that the gullible and foolish can feed their insatiable frenzy.
Even Mohammed Fayed (he isn't entitled to use the 'al' prefix even though he does) keeps on with this fixation in a bid to do three things. One : Embarrass the Royal Family, Two : Try to pressure the government to open an 'enquiry' to try to prove wrong doing and three: To try to gain sympathy.
Why does he do it? Simple. It's because he is constantly being refused British citizenship and a passport because of his criminal background and illegal activities. This is his way of creating a smokescreen until he gets what he wants.
