How can we know what our candidate is really about? A short time of name calling, finger pointing and he said she said. First time most of us have even heard of them is election time. Don't you think we get fooled so much of the time by family and friends who we think we know so well? So in proportion how can we begin to uphold a flash aquantance especially in politics?

I don't vote for the party and I don't vote for "the person". I vote for the issues. If I don't know how a candidate stands, I have a phone, I can call and ask. People who don't care enough to do a little research should lose their vote.

If they are already in politics, you can look at their voting record. I am fortunate enough to know mycandidates for governor, as they have both directly affected my life. But for the most part, we DON'T know what we are getting ourselves INTO, so most of the time we just vote to get OUT OF the previous administration. I've really been enjoying the debates on CSPAN becuase I can watch them without narration or commentary. I try to AVOID paying attention to the ads. And lastly, people ALSO need to inform themselves on the issues...to get some priority. Voting for a senator who opposes abortion is stupid because those aren't the pressing issues, and senators can't do anything about abortion. Nice qeustion!
