what other war in the history of the world did the United States Of America ever refer to its soldiers as being "kidnapped" when they themselves "capture" enemy forces?

i find it belittling to our armed forces to say that US Soldiers have been "kidnapped" when in all actuality they have been "captured".

insurgents are in no way affiliated with the government. in order to be captured you have to be backed by a "law" if soldiers were fighting the iraqi army then they would be captured. but they arent they are fighting insurgents which are kidnapping people. best way to look at it is like this.
you get taken by someone on the street hes not a cop your taken against your will you have just been kidnapped.

you are breaking the law a cop pulls you over he arrests you and takes you away. you have just been captured by the law.

thats the diffrence.
