I SAY! what kind of headteacher is that!? anyway, i think you should be able to wear a scarf and tell the headteacher to talk to your parents if he/she has a problem with you keeping yourself warm and alive. But make sure you wear a scarf predominantly in school colours so that the headteacher has less reasons to tell you off with your warm scarf.

I would have thought that it was a sensible idea to wear a scarf. You have a human right to wear a scarf BUT, in society it is often the case that some rights are compromised... I reckon having a chat with some of your teachers about why this decision has been made and making your case against it in a mature manner will get you some way to making a new compromise about the scarfs.

New Head teacher's flexing his/her muscles! If they've been banned outside, someone has been using them for things other than keeping warm methinks!!!! In which case, put a plain white T-shirt under your school shirt as an extra warmth layer.
If they're banned inside, same thing. Wear a T- shirt under your shirt. As long as you're sensible and get your mates to do the same, do what radiancia says and get together for a sensible talk with the headteacher or councillors. Don't go in guns blazing, get a petition together and work out what you are going to say. The more organised you are, the more chance you'll have of making a good impression on your teachers.

That is disgusting that your headmaster doesn't allow you a scarf. He's ok and nice and warm in his office so he doesn't need a scarf. Wear your sacrf and stand your ground and get all your mates to back you up. It seems this new head is just trying to show who's boss. The Idiot.

Get your parents to phone/write and complain the weather is now very cold and you should and are intilted to wrap up warm when outside. It is a health and safety hazzard and is he aware that if any of you get too cold your work will suffer.
He must have banned them for a reason but not fair to punish everyone.
Answer to your question is yes you should be allowed to ware your scalf if it is cold and if I thought my child was not being able to wear hers I would be up that school to complain.

What was the reason for banning the scarves? Were some people using them inappropriately? Then you can probably understand why they made the decision to ban them - but its unfortunate. You can get a few other kids together and go ask to speak with the administration seriously and calmly and explain your situation - rational reasoning works wonders.

You are allowed to wear scarves outside during breaks at school. Wearing one will help to prevent colds and the like.

we were allowed to wear them on our way to and from school but we were not allowed to wear coats, hats, gloves or scarves in school, no matter how cold it was.
