Funny - I was just thinking about this earlier. My answer would be not as often as I'd like. I've probably had my long winter coat about 5 years now and I hate it! The wool is really itchy & I don't like the way it fits anymore. I haven't been able to replace it but I did get a nice snowcoat last year. =)

There are definitely some factors to think about such as where you live and what kind of a winter you have, & how often you wear the winter coat. It really depends on those factors to figure out how often you need to buy one.

If I see a really good coat, one that I wanted for ages but just found it, no matter how much it costs, I would run emmediatelly and buy it! That's my biggest problem: you see, this year, I bought 2 coats because I found one that was better than the previous one! Then my mum came to visit me and I had to hide the first one away so see didn't see I spent too much money in one season!

i'd save an out-of-type coat for walks contained in the iciness, to throw contained in the backseat of the motorized vehicle in basic terms in case there is an emergency and that i want it or somebody else needs it (not in any respect comprehend). i'm certain on coats, fairly if i'm gonna pay $one hundred or more effective. If i encounter one which I fairly like and it doesn't want to be taken to the dry-cleaners, i visit go ahead and purchase it. might want to be each and every 10 years or a lot less. The very last one which i purchased like that makes me desire i'd gotten yet another one in a distinct colour (4 years in the past), it became an prolonged-length all-climate coat with a liner and performance gotten diverse use out of it. that is nice contained in the rain, chilly climate and for vacationing. Now i visit't locate one reminiscent of it in any of the shops, they are both too short or don't have the positive homes i love.

Every winter because styles change and you need to have more than one. One for on the slopes, one for work, one for nights out, and just a general one for everyday wear. So you really 4 new coats every year to stay on top of things.

Every winter. Coats & shoes are the only things I never grow out off.
So I have quite a collection of both :-)

Personally, I own 3 winter coats. I rotate their use. None of them look real worn. I probably only buy one every 2 years or so.. and that's not even really necessary.. but if I find a good deal on a Columbia I will ALWAYS pick it up.
