It may be more difficult for you to get pregnant, but you should be able to, especially with modern reproductive technology. Going on the pill will be helpful, since it will help keep your endometriosis from getting worse in these years before you try to conceive.

Endometriosis is a condition whereby the endometrium (the lining of the uterus) grows not only in the uterus, but tends to migrate out into the abdomen and grow on your internal organs, like your bladder or intestines. birth control pills suppress the monthly growth of the endometrium and prevent this kind of complication. In the old days, they would perform hysterectomies on women who had bad endometriosis. When you want to get pregnant, you should have no troubles with discontinuing the pill and getting pregnant (depending on how old you arewhen you want to do this). Severe endometriosis may affect fertility by interfering with implantation of the embryo.

in some cases endometriosis can cause infertility because the scar tissue can build up on the outside of the ovaries, tubes, and uterus. it is good for you to keep taking the BC pills for now though. i was never able to have kids, mine was so severe i had to have a hysterectomy at the age of 24. i will send you prayers that you have good luck when you try.

I have endo also. The pill helped me at first but as time progressed and my condition worsened they no longer helped. I took me over 3 years and over $20,000 to get pregnant with my first child.
Each women is different. If you do not have a severe case, then you may not have any trouble conceiving. Keep a close eye on your pain and condition. If it starts to get worse then don't wait. I wish that I hadn't. Good Luck!!

i was told the same thing and the pills are helping me too. From what I have read and what i have heard from doctors, this will not affect pregnancy. Im not worrying, there are so many treatments out there anyway, if I was to have some type of difficulty, they would be able to get around it and still make me conceive.

If the pills do their job and clear it all up you still should be able to get pregnant. The fact that you were given pills to take must already mean that it wasnt extensive.
