If you take them correctly they are 99% accurate. Be sure to take them EVERY day at about the same time. If you miss pills they are less effective. Antibiotics will can also decrease the effectiveness so if you are taking antibiotics you need a backup. The pill alone is more effective at preventing pregnancy than a condom alone, but the pill doesn't prevent STD's so if that is a concern you should still use a condom.

Without a condom birth control says it is 99% effective, but really it is about 95%. Now if you miss a pill during week of ovualtion you could easily get pregant. So take your pill at the same time everyday. I know of several people who got pregnant on the pill.

IF you take the pills right, every day at the same time, then I think it's 99% effective but I wouldn't put money on that!

Considering that's exactly how I got pregnant with my first child, not very. It's safer to keep using the condoms, not only to avoid an unwanted pregnancy but to avoid getting an STD.

Both is the best idea. If your just looking to make it better for him take a look into women's condoms. It sounds weird but they are real, I think only one company makes them though. Its an insert thing, not sure how it works.

up to 99% effective - but you must take them properly, i.e, the same time each day preferably, and if you miss one, then follow the instructions in your pack (each pill is different.)
Remember that the pill does not protect from aids or other sexually transmitted diseases!

If you use the pills correctly then you should be fine. Just make sure that there are not any STD's before making this decision.
