Hi,.... In my opinion, such a problem is a classic case where the best solution is to first understand the cause of your problem. ...
You would probably do well to find a good practitioner of Holistic Medicine who could do some thorough analysis of your system to see if there may be some significant vitamin/mineral etc...imbalance present in your system that may be promoting the condition you are experiencing. .... It may be that your system needs some simple changes made in your eating habits or perhaps the addition of specific nutrients that you are not getting enough of. .......... Seemingly little things like this can often make a big difference. ..... You could try a good Naturopathic Physician for this type of help.
One other form of treatment that you might get good results from would be Chinese medicine in the form of acupuncture and or chinese herbal medicine recieved from a well experienced and skilled practitioner. .......... You could try taking a specific herb or supplement that someone here might suggest you try,.. but I suspect you will not find what you need that way and you may find that working with the right skillled professional is what will work for you.
In my opinion,.. it is also true that you may be experiencing some major work going on in your inner psyche that may be the cause of what you are experiencing. .. If you are not consciously working with this inner process in a constructive way,,... this could cause your un-conscious to be pushing even more to get your attention,.. and this could show up in the form of what you are experiencing. ............. If this is the case,.. then I would recommend that you either find a good Jungian Psychologist to work with, who can help you to understand and work with your unconscious towards resolution,... or you could do some reading to learn how to work with your dreams and your unconscious on your own. ... One Jungian author who I would strongly recommend would be Robert Johnson. He has produced a number of excellent books for lay people. ................
Also,.. know that you may find that what you need is a combination of help such as nutritional/herbal along with working with your unconscious etc. ...... The bottom line is you have to do the work of exploring different tools and resources to see what works for you. You will as a result learn and come to understand yourself better as you go along.
Those are some suggestions for you. I hope this proves helpful.

Oh no, I am having the same thing! My dreams are weird, and altho not violent or anxiety like yours (poor thing!) they are very physical & mind consuming! They have started being weirder & more physically draining since I moved to London from Australia, I always dream about my family & friends back home. I too am looking for something to give me a dreamless sleep. The only time I have a dreamless sleep is if I'm drunk & conk out as soon as I hit the pillow! I;m not so keen on that solution

Someone is trying to tell you something. You need to write your dreams down. Go to www.dreammoods.com and look them up & see what the message is about. We have dreams for a reason.

Well, smoking marijuana will give you dreamless sleep. Guaranteed. I don't know if you have to be a heavy user, but the heavy users I know don't have dreams unless they are out of pot. Not a solution for everyone, I know.
