I have actually heard they that DO. I think each state would have it's own laws regarding whether or not you COULD have one without a liscence though. I have read some articles on this subject and was amazed at how people rave at how wonderful pets skunks make. They even breed them for certain color traits, such as white, cinnamon, etc. I have to say they ARE cute, but I would guess that even if you had them descented, they would still have an odor, like ferrets do.

I watched a TV show about a women who actually adopts them and takes care of them, She said they make great pets very lovable and she compared them to a dog or a cat about playing and personality wise. Just get the stink gland taken out, so next time we don't have a question like how to get the skunk smell off.

Actually, they make terrific pets! You need to get it just after weaning, and you have to get the scent glands removed. Check out your local ordinances, though, some states consider skunks wild animals not subject to domestication.

Yes, they are good pets. They can be aggressive though. I've had two, and they are as others have stated, like having a cat. They can be finicky and very moody. They are nosy, territorial, and stubborn. One that I had was very moody. He would hide under the table or bed and if he wasn't feeling like he wanted you in that area, he would run out and attack. Th other was lovable and wanted to follow you wherever you went. I compare them to a mix between a ferret and a cat. Play-full, yet unsociable at times.

Skunks are supposed to be similar to cats, they are very smart and loving. But you'd want to get the sack removed that allows them to spray.

As long as you spay/neuter them and have them them 'destinked" LOL...first. I've actually heard they make great pets. I've wanted one for a long time, but have no idea how to go about getting one.
