Does this sound like Kerry was talking about Bush? NO!

If it was a joke he would have said that immediately. Instead, he dug his heels in and said, "I will not apologize...." If it was a joke he would have apologized and restated the joke...he didn't! His comments just show his continued hatred towards the US military.

Clue Phone: I'm not 'rewriting', 'rearranging', or 'misinterpreting' what Kerry said....I'm posting an audio link to EXACTLY what he said.

Okay to Wanda with the pic of a cat drinking from a toilet...Democrats are not winning next week. I hate to break your heart. John Kerry knew exactly what he was saying when he made his "mistake". He accidently on purpose spoke his mind. Why is it that when Republicans make a mistake they never live it down. Let a Democrat make a mistake and you get all these whiny *** excuses as to why they messed up. Give it up! Your party has no class and John Kerry is the ambassador of idiocy! How dare anyone put down a soldier!!!!!! They are fighting for your right to sit back and trash them right now. Just one one American soldier has more intellect than John Scarry! John Kerry was and still is a coward. Oh sure he served in the military, but then tried to give back the Purple Heart he was given. Smack America in the face, and he's still doing it today!!! Wake up people!

If it was a joke as he said he blew the joke. Maybe he should leave comedy to comedians. Like a judge in court once said to a friend of mine who appeared without a lawyer in court. "You wouldn't take out your own appendix would you?"
He mis-read what he was supposed to say. Still it wasn't funny. It came out insulting to the troops. If he meant to insult Bush then he blew it.
By the way didn't Bush say that the terrorist want the destruction of America and so do we? Where was your outrage then? Bush stumbles on his words all the time. He is a bad speaker and people laugh about it. But it is embarrassing to have an illiterate President. It says we are all less educated then he is. This is what Kerry was getting at but you miss the big picture and are wasting everyones time with this nonsense.
But the fact is the troops are full of people who could not or did not get a college education. They came out of high school and had no future so they joined the army or marines. Why do you think so many people from lower income families are in the service. Warren Buffets kids are not over there. Donald Trumps children are making money in his organization. Not pulling a trigger in Iraq.
The point was get a good education and study hard because if you don't this may be your future.
If you don't think a soldier is the equivalent of a pawn in a chess game you are fooling your self.

I agree with you 100%....i have sat and tried like crazy to figure how what he said pertained to Bush at all......if he meant it against Bush then he should of apologized to all of the military and restated it the way he meant to say it....but since he won't do that i believe he said it exactly the way he meant it and it actually had nothing to do with Bush at all.....he is just trying to come up with an excuse because he knows he will never get voted into office now!!!!

"I am convinced a volunteer army would be an army of the poor and the black and the brown," Kerry wrote. "We must not repeat the travesty of the inequities present during Vietnam. I also fear having a professional army that views the perpetuation of war crimes as simply 'doing its job.'

Does this not sound a little racist, it came from kerry about a long while back and he didn't want to apologize for this either. if anyone hates u.s. citizens and cares only about himself i think it would be kerry. bush is doing a good job, and i'd like to see how all you anit-bush people would handle it. rich kids never join the army because all thier life they spend it about themselves, people go because they care for others and love their country enought to go and risk their lives for it.

What he said was true.. if you are lucky enough to be able to stay in school or have daddy buy you a safe spot to spend the war then you should do it.. our president did.. if not.. you are going to find yourself in Iraq. What's so wrong with that? he didn't lie. And he did not disrespect the troops.. he just stated a fact... how many college grads are over there right now.

It does not mean that our people there are dumber or less intelligent it just means that they are not as lucky as the rich kids.. and that is sad.. but Kerry was right.

This is so typical of how Repubs operate. Bush cannot articulate an intelligent sentence but no one cares. He is responsible for a war based on a lie that has killed almost a million people, the biggest deficit in history, torture and spying on his own people. There has been one scandal and corrupt scheme after another. But let a Dem make an error and it is put under a magnifying glass. Even after Kerry apologized, you won't let it go. The voters have had enough of these tactics. It just doesn't work anymore.

You have absolutely no objectivity when it comes to anything a democrat says. Why then should we accept your "analysis" of Kerry's remarks as being anything other than partisan.

You people need to wake up---

Do you really think he would say something purposely to bash the troops? He mispoke simple as that.

Bush has made so many flippin mistakes its not even funny-- every heard of Bushisms? That's how many he's made-- that we actually have a term for it.

No actually the joke was intended to bash Bush not the troops the joke was just poorly worded. Meaning that Bush would probably never allow the troops to come home even though there is no logical reason as to why they are still over there. Give it up we win.

Why would he make petty comments about the military when he can make big and true statements about the lack of insight, intelligence and preparation of the current presidential administration? Intelligent people have no doubt what he was saying.
Hint to you: It was not about the soldiers in Iraq.
