It depends what you want to do with the degree and where you want to live and work...

English - widely spoken around the world and in the emerging East Block and former Soviet countries

French - again because of the French Empire this is often a second language in Africa and some Arabic countries

Spanish I guess is probably useful for Mexico and South American countries

Chinese is limited to China and unless dealing with this country, probably French is the next most useful language to English

why not contact some international business, or airlines and ask them what they feel is the most useful or maybe the language they would most like their staff to be able to speak

Definitely Mandarin - China is one quarter of the world's population. The chinese economy is growing at about 10%pa

Nearly everything is made in China. They are the only nation that will be able to stand up to America due to their physical and economic size.

Chinese people are everywhere - even where you don't expect to find them!

The chinese acknowledge the importance of English in the conduct of international business, and are learning the language, so if they can speak both, and you only speak one, you only get to hear what they want you to hear.

It's real hard to learn though - I'm chinese and I still struggle (English is my first language)

I would personally say spanish. I am a spanish student so am slightly biased. Although Chinese is good for the new business world. Although Chinese is spoken the most (due to population), Spanish is the most wide-spread giving more opportunities in my opinion.

Hi bro,

You should go for Spanish.

Benefits:- Spoken in parts of Europe and Most parts of South America .Just understand where there were spanish colonies , spanish is spoken and understood.

The world needs people to sell. Sourcing comes behind you everytime. Chinese fall for sourcing. They are going to sell products , so they will learn to speak your language.( I don't think you can sell anything in China)

So man, Go for Spanish and for rest of the world You have to master English,

Wish you a happy business life ahead

Spanish, the most spoken language in the world, after english and chinese, and mostof the chinese is only spoken in china,so unless you are going to specialise in China ,i think Spanish will be the most useful.

Mandarin Chinese. There is no manufacturing going on in any Arabic speaking country, unless you are in the oil business.
