I don't think it has to do with quantity. I think it is simply we don't want what we have, we want what we don't. Than when we get something new we don't want it anymore because we have it. This is why it is always more fun waiting in anticipation than actually having what you want; the journey is more fun than the destination. I think this is really all true because of our want to move forward, what we have is all the past. In an ever evolving present, we don't have time for the past. Even though the past and the future combined is what makes the illusion of the present time. In the end, we simply just move on to the next journey, the next thing.

Let's not get confused here folks. It is possible to be satisfied with what you have in the moment, but that doesn't mean that you will never want more. A parent may be capable and able to support a child, but that doesn't mean that they don't want more for that child. It isn't about wanting more. That is not necessarily a bad thing. It's what we want that makes the difference.

No!No! No! Less can be more! Simplicity is the key and learning to appreciate what you already have. The value of things that can't be bought is immeasurable, e.g. health, love and happiness.
