Visited Bejing, China, and climbed the great wall. It is about 6,000km long I think over the most rugged terrain imaginable. one of the 7 wonders of the world. It was started in 475BC and were still working on in it in about 1644 AD. I just like to travel a lot while I'm still young at 77.

Syros Island in the Greek Archipelago. I used to be in the navy and we went there to drydock.

20 years ago at least, there was no tourism there, and it was so unspoilt - only one hotel on the island - the Hermes.

We all ate ashore every night because not only was it cheap, all the restaurants were alfresco on the quayside. Whenever a ferry came in from the mainland the monks in the monastery used to ring their church bell. If you were still drinking at 0200 the staff simply let you carry on eating and boozing.

I was on deck one morning looking at the hill leading up to the monastery admiring the pastel-coloured dwellings on the hillside, when someone came up behind me and opined "you almost expect Anthony Quinn to come riding down on a donkey".

That encapsulated it far more eloquently than I could have.

I've been to Ireland (beautiful), Scotland (beautiful), London (sucked), Amsterdam (cant wait to go again), and wonderful Germany!

We went to Germany this summer for the world cup and while in Germany my boyfriend proposed on my birthday. Definitely my most memorable!
