I work one-on-one with a child with autism who is in kindergarten. I would really like to find more information on autism, as well as ways that I can get him to communicate, work with others, etc... If you know of any resources that would be good I would really appreciate the help. I want to learn as much as I can!

Please consider visiting the following website:

http://www.cesa7.k12.wi.us/sped/autism/index2.htm

It is hosted by a cooperative educational service agency in northeastern Wisconsin. There are a number of links to a variety of autism-related information, including programming for children ages 3 - 5.

The same agency also hosts an autism online discussion You can check that out at the following link:

http://www.cesa7.k12.wi.us/sped/chatroom/index.htm. There are archived discussions as well as a new topic starting next Monday.

I hope these links are helpful for you!

one website is called ( thehelpinggroup.org ). You can also just type in the search bar autism or autistic children or what ever it is that you are needing and go form there. CBS also tends to put out websites on the TV or at CBS.com. I hope this helps.

There is many websites that you can go to to find information on autism.... Go to http://www.wikipedia.com and type in autism in the search and it will give you information or go to http://www.dogpile.com or http://www.ask.com and just type in autism for all the searches and it will give you infomation. My cousion has it and it was neat to learn about it but it is a very sad disease! He is in first grade right now and he communicates well as long as you keep him involved with what is going on around he/she.

I don't know of any websites, but you should read The Boy Who Loved Windows. It is a very insightful book written by a mother on her own experiences with her son. Good Luck!

i found "Autism for Dummies" to be very effectual, no longer in basic terms for myself as a instructor of those scholars, yet in addition to advise to persons. that's written in effortless language via Stephen Shore.
