Drag queens personally freak me out like clowns do.
And as for the snarky comment by the demon above me about g0ys.
Just because we do not like or even understand effeminate behavior does not make us insecure in our manhood.
You need to get over your obsession with the g0ys just because we wont let you in our club doesn't mean you have to denigrate us.

Nope! There's just so much variance in drag queen presentation that you just can't lump them all in. For example, some are very passable, a little low-key (as much as a drag queen can get low key) and put on a heckuva show. Others are out there on the edge of freaky- it's not so much drag in women's clothes as it is space outfits- and they're amusing but also a tad frightening (to me). But nope, they don't repulse me. Many just get me hot!

Nope, not at all. Well, okay, there's nothing worse than a drag queen with no fashion sense. But there's nothing wrong with regular drag queens. I mean really, they give the best performances when you need a little entertainment.

No, they're performers, in the 19th and early 20th centuries they were all the rage. Drag Queens are simply continuing the long and very popular form of entertainment known as female impersonation. Its neither new nor controversial, accept of course to the closed minded or any Conservative Christian Republican.

you certainly do no longer must be gay to be a drag queen. And, you do no longer must be a drag queen once you're gay. i know that for the duration of all probability sounds evident, yet i know people who think of every person gown up in drag and that in basic terms isn't actual.

Not at all, I think a drag queen adds a little sparkle to proceedings. It's good to see someone make the effort when all around are slouching about in standard issue T's and jeans. You go girl!!

I guess because I am a grown up, I can not want to be a drag queen and not be into drag queens, but still recognize that my tastes are ARBITRARY and unique to me. Thus, I don't need to make such universal statements, like "drag queens are repulsive."
A few of you will understand this: homosexual/bisexual men that show hostility towards the effeminate members of our community have internalized heterosexual stereotypes regarding homosexuals being emasculated. They are insecure in their masculinity, and feel the behavior of other men who are like them in some way (sexually) reflects on them. Thus, to protect their own image of masculinity, they project hostility onto the object that makes them feel insecure. The result? Questions like this, and the g0ys.
Sorry for the long paragraph, but that's the ex-shrink in me.

Nope, I love drag queens. Most of them are wonderfully nice people who love to sing, dance, entertain, and challenge gender stereotypes and ideals.

I think they're amusing. I just came back from Fantasy Fest in Key West & we saw a costume contest which included some drag queens. They're harmless. Let them have fun.
