I get these all the time from PayPal and random banks.

You will be fine. If all they have is your name, they won't be able to do anything. They would need your credit card information or social security number to do any real damage from an e-mail.

This is a common style of e-mail called "phishing". A website should never ask you for personal information (like credit card numbers or social security numbers) over e-mail. If a website you already use does ask you for this info, make sure to go to their website and e-mail their support department just to confirm.

EDIT: Don't go cancelling your card if there's no threat of ID theft. All they have is your name and your address. Ten thousand people have the same name as you--they can't do bunk with it.

Be careful when writing e-mails with your name and surname, unless you KNOW who they are going to be read by. They can track you down with your name and surname... but all hope is not lost. I would recommend getting your card number and PIN (if applicable) changed, if you are really worried. NEVER send out your SSN or any sensitive information in your e-mails. Sounds like a phishing scam.

Just to be safe, go cancel the card and have them issue a new one. I had my identity stolen at one time, and it was no fun. Better to be safe than sorry.

You should be OK with just your name, but you still want to be extra careful.

Put a fraud alert on your credit file. You can learn how to do that here:
