Are you pregnant? If you are not, your cervix will be closed. It only opens if you are at the end stages of pregnancy or in active labor that is progressing. Why did you go to the ER? What are they doing checking your cervix if you're not pregnant? If you are pregnant, I hope you're more informed about child rearing than the pregnancy part. Good luck!!
