Hey everyone,
I'm a graphic designer and about 2 weeks ago my friend asked me if I would re-do her website (She is a photographer and wanted the site totally redone)
She said she didn't care what it costs and to just bill her when its done.
Now this lady has been a friend of mine for 5 years (not close friend, but coffee once a month friend) and I'm unsure what to charge her.
I usually charge $25 an hour for my design work. Now it took me about 3 hours to design it and another 3 hours going through and fixing all these little details that she wanted done (eg. Banner is to blue, banner is now to blue... etc)

Should I charge her like a client or make up a new price for her as a friend?

Thanks!

Melissa

This is a difficult question for anyone but you to answer, since you know this customer/friend, and will have to deal with her expectations. If you need the money, charge her the usual rate. If you need the money, but want to make a good impression, give her a 10% discount. If you are independently wealthy, then donate your time and do it for free. I hope this helps.

Charge her the usual. She said she doesn't care and this isn't a close friend. She wasn't asking you to do it as a friend, but simply gave you the business because she new you.

Since she's not a close friend, "but coffee once a month friend". I would charge her the lowest rate you charge your regular clients.

For a chum and an person-friendly internet site by using a flat fee at him/her and do in basic terms it. i do no longer understand I in all probability get a venture like this carried out in an afternoon if effortless and in case you're making use of a template i will in all probability get it carried out in 2 hours tops. i'd cost $2 hundred.00 and get it carried out. in case you're taking longer you would be able to desire to cost greater, yet come on you're already making use of a template. If she/he recommends you human beings, then its properly worth it. 100mb is stable adequate for storange. You pronounced area. How plenty bandwidth.

charge her by cleaver way.

Ask her to make an advertisement for you by her website. what do think?
Or
to make an advertisement for whoever you want by the same cost.
Or
to put something in that banner, which Indicates that you are the designer.
