You are doing very well...keep up the pace and hard work. I used to run 5 and 10K races with about the same average time per mile and was told to be doing very good. Of course, it's about doing it and not being on the side lines! You're doing great for your age...any age for that matter! Great job and keep it up!

For 8th grade, that's really good, mine was about that. I ran cross country and track all high school - if you do that, or at least run one season and play other sports year round - and have a decent coach and put good effort into it, you could break 5 min. And actually, 5 min is not an "average" mile time unless you're a male varsity high school athlete (my best was 4:45).

thats pretty good! I ran a 6:00 flat in highschool for soccer. keep up the good work.

not bad for your 1st try. The average for a mile is 5 minutes. you did very well. WTG!!!
