They make awesome Donairs in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada (spicy meat) called a Donair on a pita with donair sauce . Anyone know of a place that sells them in Michigan? No one seems to make this tasty fast food item.

In the U.S. they are more likely to be called gyros, with some places calling them shawarma.

Try Samis Gyro at 616 363 7671 or Mr Gyros at 616 791 6660

For a good Gyro and other great Mediterranean food, go to the Pita house in either East town (lakedrive and Wealthy) or the one by Honey baked ham on 28th street (1st light east of the beltline) in the strip mall on the south west corner of this intersection.
