i work for 2 doctors in a medical office. i really like it. i guess it all depends on the doctors you are working for. you learn allot .the hours are usually 9 to 5 or 8 to 4. the pay isn't to bad depending on your employer . if it is a small practice or clinic it may be less. i did the medical records first it really wasn't my cup pf tea. its mostly just setting a desk and dealing with insurance company's . i decided to just work the Front signing patients in , breaking down charts, you work more one on one with the doctors and i enjoy it. oh yes most offices are Mon-Fri. hospitals or specialized clinics are usually Saturdays and hospitals every day, or swing shifts. i like the Monday - Friday myself. good luck.

Medical records jobs are generally at hospitals and depending on the size of the hospital can be any of their 8 hour shifts if it's big enough. These generally don't require much training, but they don't necessarily have steady work until you have a lot of experience. Medical assistants or physician assistants require specialized training and work standard doctor's hours, depending on who or where you work for.
