Hi. Raindrops can be spherical or nearly so. Light entering a sphere bounces off the inner back surface and is reflected back out. Water has a different value of what is called the 'refractive index', so the light tends to spread out. We see the different frequencies of light as color. The 'bow' is formed because the drops are round.

Check this and see if u could get wat u wanted.

For a rainbow to be formed sunlight should pass thro rain water.
Actually sun light is a emits light with all frequencies. U may be knowing that a prism scatters a white light into seven colours. The same happens in this case also.

Rain drops also act as a prism and scatter sun light into 7 colours. Obviously if sun is in the east direction when it is raining one could see the rainbow in the west direction and vice-versa

Hope so u got wat u needed. Revert back.

When light refracts through water, it is seperated into the spectrum of colors that make up sunlight.
