Athlete's Foot creme 2x a day until it's gone is what my doc recommended. And yes, it IS Contagious, so wear gloves and wash thoroughly after treating.

Fast Ringworm Cure?

Go to WalMart.... and buy an antifungal cream, Clotrimazole Cream USP, 1%. It will be located in the health and beauty department by the foot products. Use rubber/latex gloves when applying the cream since you can get ringworm too. Use the cream liberally 3 times a day. It will take 2-4 weeks to clear up, but it's cheaper than the stuff you vet will sell you which takes 2 weeks to clear the problem. Good Luck.

Ringworm is VERY contagious, and even people can get it. Be sure whatever you try that you use caution.

If it were me, I'd call the vet and she'd give me a Rx or recommendation for the right drug. She might want to see the horse first... skin issues aren't always ringworm. Problems with the fur and hair loss can be anything from rain rot to external parasites to extreme starvation to a bad habit (a horse who scratches a spot incessantly) to bad fitting tack.

Good luck to you!

I don't think it goes away by itself. I work at a pet store and our guinea pigs often come in with it.
We use Monistat cream (yes the one for yeast infections) because ringworm is a fungus.
We put it on twice daily, just a thin coat on the ringworm area. It'll take a couple of weeks to go away. Make sure you're using gloves though because you can catch it.
Good luck!

Use any over the counter cream for fungus.
Be sure to wear gloves and wash your hands well. It spreads like carzy.
It will take about 4 weeks to clean up.
Horses also get something called rain rot that looks like ringworm and it can be treated the same and it will clear up.

call the vet as it is contageous in horses and can spread to the others on the yard. You have to wash all the stables down with hibi scrub or jays fluid. but i would definatly call your vet

If you want it gone quick your gonna have to call a vet. But it will go away on it's own eventually. Ringworn is very common in horses cause it comes from the dirt.
