I went to Italy once and I remember going to Vicenza and to Venice. Is Vicenza also like a province or county, because my teacher says you say "venice" in Italian as "vicenza" but if I remember correctly "venice" is "venezia"?

I tried to read the encyclopedia but I'm getting confused because they said at some time in the middle ages vicenza was annexed by venice so maybe it is the same?

thanks!

Sounds like your teacher needs a geography lesson!

Bring this map to your teacher - They are both Cities:

And you are absolutely correct - Venezia is how you say Venice in Italian : )

Because of ignorant teachers this is why American kids don't know much about world geography.

You know MORE than your teacher does !!!

Vicenza is not only different from Venezia in every way but the former has a huge US military base with thousands of solders stationed there. I know I had friends from there who fought for our freedom and I used to go there for Thanksgiving when I lived in Bologna, Italy.

Lots of fighter missions that were carried out in Iraq and other countries flew directly out of Vicenza !!!

So remember Vicenza-Thanksgiving-US military base.

God Bless The USA !

Plz print and give to your teacher...Def. of Ignorance is not the amount of things you don't know but how much you think you do know and its wrong :::)))

Ciao

i say that your teacher is a dumb!

yes, the italian translation of venice is VENEZIA

Vicenza is another town and it is located in the same region of Venice, the VENETO!
vicenza is far many kilometers from venice, and it's not settled on the sea as Venice

You're teacher is incorrect.

Vicenza is at the foot of the Berici Mountains, where the rivers Retrone and Bacchiglione meet, we find Vicenza, the city known universally as the "cradle" of Palladio because of the incredible number of works the great architect produced there.

You are correct in saying that Venice is actually Venezia.

Buona fortuna

Vicenza is completly different from Venice, the only thing they have in common is that they are both in Veneto, a North-East Region in the Italian Republic. However, they are very near. Ciao!

Vicenza and Venezia (Venice) are two completely different things.

My advice, bet your teacher. If you win, you get an automatic "A" on the final grade, no matter what and if she wins, you get an automatic "F".

Then sit back and wait for that "A" to come. ;-)
