tendonitis...inflammation of the tendons of the elbow

Golfer's and Tennis elbows are not the same although yes, they're both some sort of tendinitis. Golfer's occurs on the inner part of your elbow while tennis is on the outer side. You probably got this by hitting the ball and instead of a follow through, your club got stuck on the ground causing strain on the inner aspect of the elbow. Tennis elbow was called such because this usually occurs in tennis players with improper backhand strokes. But you don't have to be a tennis player to get this.

Golfer's elbow is the opposite to tennis elbow and occurs on the under side of the elbow. If you can, try not to have the injections as they are extremely painful, the Dr. injects into the joint area. For me it never worked and in the end I had mine operated on and it cured it. You are put under anaesthetic and the tissue is then scraped off the bone. Once done it does work.

Golfers elbow is the same as tennis elbow. It is tendonitis in a specific joint. You need to rest the injured area, apply cold packs several times a day and take anti-inflammatory meds such as ibuprofen or naproxen which are avaiable over the counter. If that doesn't heal it over time they may inject the area with a cortisone shot.

Tennis and Golfers elbow are a kind of 'overuse' injury caused by the gripping action of the respective sports. The symptons are a severe tenderness of the forarm muscles directly linked to the gripping action.

One or two colleagues have suffered with either of these conditions, and despite being very sceptical of Acupuncture treatment, they found that it worked wonders.
