You could if you wanted to,
however there are a few points you may want to read first.
1) You would probably be banned from playing football for life.
2) You would possibly end up serving up to 10 years in prison (if charged + convicted of GBH)
3) You would almost certainly lose your job, if you have one, then your home (unable to pay mortgage), family, etc.
Is it really worth throwing everything away for a moment of revenge?

Sure why not, Zidane did it and all he got was a couple of weeks community service or whatever. Just say it was in the heat of the moment or he abused your family of something. No problem
