In some countries to "break wind" means to flatulate. In others, to "break wind" means to speak.

SO - it depends on where you are. You are right if you want teachers to stop flatulating in class; but you are not right if you want teachers to stop speaking - they would then be unable to teach.

Teachers break wind for the same reason everyone does - digestion creates gas as a biproduct.

Take phazyme, beano, or gas-x.

I think they do for the same reasons that everyone else does. And no, it cannot be stopped.
