Guild Wars all the way. I have seen World of Warcraft played, and I am sorry if I am going to pay a monthly fee to play a computer game only the graphics; audio; and game play had better top rate. Unfortunately WOW dose not have any of the above to even warrant my time; much less the roughly $15/month that they want for my subscription to their server. I am (in my opinion) a veteran video gamer (I have been playing since I was six. Starting with Mario then Zelda, and graduated to Final Fantasy.) to me WOW's graphics are vaguely reminiscent of the early 3D games like the original Star Fox game for the Super Nintendo, or AT best the graphics used in Dioblo 2. I am sorry but if GW can come out with graphics of better quality than those in WOW for an on-line game that is free I will take the one that's free. Plus I do not cherish the though of my comp telling me it quits because the game I am attempting to play is not worth the graphics cards time to process, and that the memory has better things to waste its electrons on like the Original Wolfinstine.
I better step of the soap box before I choke the spell check.

Personally. I say Guild Wars. Graphics are better to me, bugs are normally very low and those that exist tend to be fixed quickly. There is really no "grind" you level as you go along with the storyline. The PvP is basically an open field. Sure you will see the same builds a bit but you will also see just random stuff that does pretty well. Add on that it has no monthly fee and that makes Guild Wars better to me. Plus. I like to play games on and off... If I pay for it and then take a break, what a waste. Likewise I take a break, then want to play again I'll have to wait untill the payment is done. Too much hassle for me to enjoy casual gaming.

I always think of Guild Wars as WoW lite. My kids play WoW and I play Guild
Wars. Wow seems really involved and there are so many icons on the screen. The game looks really cool and the kids are always doing these huge instances, but half the time it looks like they are spending a lot of time travelling from place to place. I like Guild Wars because there is no monthly fee and I can play PVE wheneve I get the chance. The newest realease, Nightfall, has several improvements in it and I am enjoying it very much.

I think if you have all the time and money in the world to spend playing the game, then World of Warcraft is the better choice. However, if your looking for a game that's free and doesn't require endless hours to be able to be sccessful in the game, then I think Guild Wars would be a better bet. Both games have their own unique graphic style and both can be fun. I think that PvP is more balanced in Guild Wars though, because it was a game built from the ground up for PvP combat.

It all depends on what you are looking for. if you are looking to invest a lot of time in the game and want a large diversity in the world and things to do WoW is the way to go. For me guild wars was more of a thing to do when i had 20 mins here and there. WoW is something that you need to invest a lot of time on. I had much more fun playing WoW than GW considering i like indepth game play in MMO's.
