Marine Archeology - how galleons were built, what of, why. when, where. Read up on the Endeavour, an amazing and enthralling history. Check how Bligh managed to navigate across an ocean to safety in a tiny, crowded rowboat after the mutiny. What were the Ironclads, why named that? Build your own coracle and learn how to sail it. Visit the Duyfken replica at Fremantle (on the net and in books) - tiny Dutch spice trader scout vessel which landed in Australia 200 years before Cook. See HMSVictory at Portsmouth naval dockyard and the Mary Rose opposite same day. Start the hobby on the net, at home, you can do it solo if you wish. Inexpensive (except cost of visiting famous ships).

I have been playing for less than a year now and am getting quite good. You will need to know someone who can play that can give you some guidance, but progress can be quick and then you can look cool at BBQ's!!
