I am leaving my job and I'm trying to make very explicit instructions on how our computer programs work. I want to make a hand-out that has an actual picture on it of what's on my computer screen and then paste it into a word document with instructions. Anybody know how to do this??

Assuming you are using Windows, you can take a screen shot of your screen by pressing the "Print Scrn" key on your keyboard -- it will capture the entire screen. Youc an then go to your email program, or your word process (MS Word) and past the picture in it by pressive CTRL+V, or going to the Edit menu and selecting Paste.

Alternativevely, you can use the Alt key together with the "Print Scrn" key to capture just the active application window (instead of the enture computer screen), and the use Edit / Paste to copy it into your word document or email meessage.

Good Luck,

Cris

Hold down your control button and then hit Print Screen. This will capture what is on your screen. And then you can paste it in Paint and save it as a picture. After that, you can open your MS Word and insert this picture in your document. In fact, saving it as a picture in Paint is option, you can paste the print screen directly in your MS Word document.

CTRL PrintScreen
Copy and Paste in to Word Pad.
You can add text or whatever you need to do and save it on the computer or you can print it out.
If you want to make printed hard copies of screen shots, you can download
PrintScreen32
Its free.

Link to download is towards the bottom of page. Once you download, install. Very easy installation. Once installed it will be in your start, all programs, Printscreen. Click on it, it will show up in your task tray located in the bottom right of your screen as a little monitor with red, yellow and green in the middle. Right click on that and configure. Now all you have to do is just hit PrintScreen on any screen shot you want to capture.

Sure. on your computer desktop, click print screen on your keyboard. Then go to Wordpad, and click in the white area, and click paste. If you want to make your picture smaller, hold your curser around the picture and you should see where you can drag it smaller.

Hot_Honda is correct.
Also, you can paste the image into paint first if you want to crop only a specific part of the image or you want to add text to image.
