PCO is when the eggs in your monthly cycle fails to release and developes into a bubble(simply put). The more eggs that fail to release forms into more and more bubbles that form a cluster and that is where the term poly(means many) began to form on the ovary. Each month a woman has an egg released and when it does not fully mature and travel the normal process it stops and stays on the ovary, again forming a cluster. So having PCO means many cyst on your ovary and it woul stand out on an ultrasound, looking exactly like a cluster of grapes but only a doctor can read the ultrasound. As far as i know the only treatment for it is removal of the whole ovary. If you had it the doctor would have told you the time you had the US. So it may be nothing to worry about. I know I had to have my right one remove DEC last year. You only need one ovary to have a child as long as that one ifs functioning properly and releasing an egg or two :). Good Luck baby girl

there will be plenty of info on the net, wich should give you sufficient info. However, when i was young i was diagnosed with pcos, but found out about 18 months ago, it wasnt a diagnostic case and therfor i didnt have pcos, that it was just being investigated and limited out. Unfortunately pcos can affect fertillity, but as i said before the net and doctors will hold the answers to your many q's about this topic. I wish you well.

My Doc origonally thought I had PCO, but I haven't gotten a definate diagnosis yet. But my close friend just recently got diagnosed with it. PCOS DOESNT make you infertile, it just makes It a little harder. My friend that has pcos is on a fertility drug, clomid, right now and she is on her second cycle of it. So I guess it all depends on your body. Some have issues with getting pregnant, some don't. I wouldn't worry about it right now. I would be focusing on keeping it under control by eating healthy and managing your weight.

they are basically cysts. Dependig on how many you have and how big they are determines the criticallness. If it was serious the doctors would have been in contact by now so i wouldnt worry to much but maybe chase the doctors to be on the safe side. It is treatable although if left for to long can have effects.
