well it a mild to serious form of mental illness, it affects approxmatly 3 per cent of the population, a lot of people are ignorant of it as they seem to assume people with it are either mad or are some kind of freaks.it 's not a laughing matter as anyone can hve it, including me.people tend to think the people with split personality disorder are acting or making things up, but no ,they don't actuly know that they are doing it.i hope i gave u enough info on it,i had an ex b/f who had it, but was cured by drugs and counceling.so pls do not worry!!

Well, my great grandmother Penelope Lucinda Wilkinson III had it from the time she was 30 to 95, and her doctors were never able to cure it. It affected our whole family every day, she had approx. 4 personalities, but none of them were very mean. She actually seemed to have a very good time, it seemed to keep her entertained. Sometimes when we would go to visit her, she would be on the floor laughing so hard she had peed her depends (no joke!) We had to help her a lot, but she died a happy lady.
That is just my personal experience, but it is a serious disease, and I've heard of people having really mean personalites also.

It's when a person actually manifests the physical and psychological characteristics of completely different people. They dress differently, may have a very different voice, one may be aggressive, the other shy,
etc. Most people have different aspects to their personality, but here the integration of the personality completely breaks down, and separate personalities form which take turns running the body.
