I have asked a question about this issue before (http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20061101094109AA4ERu2) . Is there anybody using SpeedFan here. I started to have doubt about the uprightness of the monitoring. For about more than 5 minutes my CPU tempeture is over 110Celcius. Is this possible? I am shutting my notebook down after submitting this question.
God bless...

I installed Everest Home Edition. And realized that Everest shows CPU temp as 21C where Speed fan shows Temp1 21C and Core 110C.
Interesting huh!?

What is the make of notebook and what processor do you have? I have tried speed fan and it gave me faulty readings all the time. I use everest home edition and the numbers seam to be right on.

Is the actual notebook really hot to the touch? I also recommend Everest Home Edition. The temps seem much more in line. Try it out and see what your results are.

If it was truly at that temperature it probably be melting at this point, I seriously think that Speed Fan is just reading it wrong, there is no way a processor could even operate for 5 minutes at that temperature.

If your CPU is truly at that temperature, you have a serious problem. Make certain you are not mistaking a Farenheit reading for Celcius.

That's too hot. You need to bring it back to warranty.
