Well I'm not a Democrat but I've always surmised that one would have to be high to vote for them!
My guess is its split 50/50, 50% quit voting democrat when they quit smoking pot, and 50% quit voting democrat after they become a crime victim.

This questions makes little sense. These two things (smoking pot and voting deomcrat) are completely seperate things.
Since I have been of the legal voting age I have smoked. Because I enjoy it and will always hope for its legalization.
Since I have been of the legal voting age I have always voted Republican. Because of the money.
Both independent thoughts. Trust me you can be a pothead and still vote Republican.

Stopped smoking in my early 20's, But was a democrat until they seemed to only care about giving more welfare and having no point of view. I can't say that the republican party is much better but it does care about economy and the things that keep America running.

Voting for a Republican would probably drive me to drink and smoking dope. Democrat is the way to go stoned or not! VOTE!

Never smoked it. But I see why the Democrats still do--to hide in a haze of make-believe and duck the responsibilities of reality.

I quit before I was old enough to vote. After 4 years of Carter, I was delighted to vote for the best President ever, Ronald Reagan.

No, I quit them after I had to start paying my own rent. Growing up means leaving childish things behind and taking responsibility for oneself and one's family.
The Democrats' political direction directly opposes the ideas that America was founded upon - self-reliance, personal responsibility, minimal government interference, strictly limited government, maximum personal freedom.

No, but I have found there is a general trend of getting more conservative as you get older, and this is probably due to the desire to protect what you have worked hard for, which is more in line with conservative philosophy, i.e., individual responsbility and atonomy. Legalize it man!
