My daughter had a cat that peed on a blanket. I could not get the smell out .So finally I took a whole box of baking powder, filled the washer up with warm water and then dumped the whole box in .I left it agitate for a bit, then I put the blanket in .I left it agitate then left it sit in the washer for about an hour then I finished the wash cycle and the smell came out . PS also add your detergent with it , Also put it through a couple rinse cycles with cold water.

If you add something like pine sol or Mr.clean to the wash the odor should come out. I had some winter wear stored in a box in my shed. When I brought them in they smelled of gas from the lawnmower. I added some pine sol to the wash and the smell came right out

I would try soaking/spraying the underarm area of clothes with very strongly diluted SCD Odor Away. then wash as normal. Odor away gets the smell out of anything and it doesnt make you smell like you're trying to cover up odors like fabreez or some other obvious product.

The only trick I know is to use a fabric softener, and downy sample works really well for me. It softens the fabric and leaves a cleaner scent on my clothes. So for product tips and info, you may also browse this site http://www.upkb.com/downysample.php and learn more.

try white distilled vinegar in the wash.
See below:
"Remove perspiration odor and stains on clothing, as well as those left by deodorants, by spraying full-strength white distilled vinegar on underarm and collar areas before tossing them into the washing machine."
