Deja' Vu is the feeling that you've done something before/been somewhere before.

Deja' Vu is french and literally means "already seen."

Those who have experienced the feeling describe it as an overwhelming sense of familiarity with something that shouldn't be familiar at all. For instance, say your friend moves into a new home in a new town that you've never visited. Upon entering the home, you see a staircase and immediately get an overwhelming sense that you "know" the staircase.

That's Deja' Vu.

The term "déjà vu" (French for "already seen", also called paramnesia) describes the experience of feeling that one has witnessed or experienced a new situation previously. The term was created by a French psychic researcher, Émile Boirac (1851–1917) in his book L'Avenir des sciences psychiques (The Future of Psychic Sciences), which expanded upon an essay he wrote while an undergraduate French concentrator at the University of Chicago. The experience of déjà vu is usually accompanied by a compelling sense of familiarity, and also a sense of "eerieness," "strangeness," or "weirdness." The "previous" experience is most frequently attributed to a dream, although in some cases there is a firm sense that the experience "genuinely happened" in the past.

The experience of déjà vu seems to be very common; in formal studies 70% or more of the population report having experienced it at least once. References to the experience of déjà vu are also found in literature of the past, indicating it is not a new phenomenon. While it has been extremely difficult to invoke the déjà vu experience in laboratory settings, therefore making it a subject of few empirical studies, recently researchers have found ways to recreate this sensation using hypnosis

Deja' Vu is when you see, hear, feel something that you swear you have seen, heard, or felt before. It's a sense of already having experienced. On the flip side, it's also the name of a strip club.

It's a strong feeling that you've been there before. And you can't explain it any other way.

The other day I came to an interview to get an apartment. The lady had a picture of herself and another person on her refrigerator. I knew before I asked her, the man was Willy Nelson!

But I said, "Gee, that looks just like Willy?" The words were only just partly out of my mouth, and she said, that is Willy Nelson! She didn't have too, I somehow knew that before I saw the picture.

I don't think it means I want to live there, though. I hope there is another connection between us, she would make a great friend for either one of my sisters.
