Have had pains in my lower stomach (specifically, on the right hand side) for quite some time. Kind of feels like period pain, but it's very sporadic. I went to the dr, who did an internal exam and did a test for a urinary infection and also stds, and also referred me for an ultrasound, thinking I might have had an ovarian cyst, but they all came back fine. Any idea on what this could be? No other symptoms really.

Ghost Tracker, I hope you're being facetious!
Have had no real problems with bowel stuff. My periods have been a little irregular and have missed a couple, which made me think it might have been ovarian.
I would have thought that if it was a tumour or anything relating to the ovaries, then it would have shown up on the ultrasound. But they said that was all fine.
Might try going to another doctor (have been to 2 so far) and see if they can come up with anything new.

Did the doctor do a vaginal ultrasound? they are more accurate than on top of the abd. Could be colon, ovarian cyst, appendix. ask your primary doctor to check these. I'd hate to tell you to ask for certain test and waste money, but better safe than sorry. Ask primary doctor to refer you to a gyn doctor and ask them to check the female organs again and if nothing found again ask for a referrel to a gastrointerologist(deals with the colon, stomach). hope this helps. You said you have not had a period for a couple times ask them to check for a eptopic pregnancy. A eptopic pregnancy can occur ANYWHERE it does not only occur in the tubes. It can occur in the ovaries, outside the uterus(rare) but can happen, inside a ovary, anywhere.Ask the doctor to do blood work to check your HCG level. If that proves low than at least you have eliminated another obstacle. Better safe than sorry. Hope this helps.

I am going through the same things. I had this lower abdominal pain that wouldn't go away. The doctors thought it could be my ovaries since I had not had a period in months, but after an ultrasound showed they were fine the doctors were stumped. They tested every level of hormones, everything ok. They tested my thyroid, ok. They even did a brain scan to make sure that there wasn't something wrong with my pituitary. Then they gave me a barium enema (they put in chalk and air and take XRAYS to see the lower intestine and bowel area to look for diverticulitis and kinks) but that all turned out ok too. They want to do a colonoscopy too, but they have no idea what or why I;m having them. And I have been to 4 different doctors including an internal medicine doc. I hope you have better luck!

On your right side you have your organs, spleen, liver etc... Your colon is on your left side. You may have irritation throughout your intestinal tract,it could even be gas. Try a gas relieving medicine and see if that helps,it really sounds to me like some type of bowel disorder. Could be IBS. Try an increased water intake as well as some extra fiber in your diet and see if that helps any. You can develope a bowel problem over time so it doesnt have to be a pre-exsisting problem .

Could be any number of things, bowel, ovaries, etc, is the Dr. going to follow up? If not go to another one! A general practice if available.

i've got had a cyst 2 cases that was once discovered after abdomen soreness and then a pelvic examination at my gyn. the two cases, submit sonogram, the cyst was once got here across to be some subject stated as a sensible or popular cyst. the two cases the cyst and the soreness went away in in basic terms some weeks. i used to be accepted to look the sonogram photographs and the cyst was once packed with sparkling fluid. There are, consistent with the link under, all forms of cysts, in spite of the incontrovertible fact that plenty ovarian ones are the harmless functional type. Get it regarded at to be shelter and inspect to no longer worry too much (even nonetheless i understand the way complicated it is having been there myself... :) )
