there's a program called codestuff starter download it install get into the start up area and uncheck everything that you really don't need at start up I mean everything programs will start when you need them they don't have to run in the background, disable the network you can enable it when you need it,get windows defender it will tell you when something wants to put in the start up,it will give you the option if you want that to happen or not, when you do a defrag always do it when you do a fresh start or restart, remove any software that you don't use before you defrag is a good idea. finally go to pcpitstop.com and run there full test it's free at the end see how many checkered flags you have it will also help you with your start ups and security settings

Has it always taken this long to boot up?
Also, try to modify your startup programs too. Go to the Start Menu, then to Run and type in MSCONFIG. Click on the right tab, Startup, these programs are not necessary for windows to operate, but you dont want to get rid of them all. Remove any of the programs that you do not need to startup when your computer does. Just a note, you can still use these programs, they just wont load as fast the first time you use them.
