Only a professional can dye leather successfully. I would take the boots to a shoe repair shop and ask. It would need to go a darker colour, and there could be colour bleed.

I would suggest getting them dyed a dark brown, then if the colour bleeds it would be an oxblood colour, which is cool anyway.

to dye your boots, you would neeed to strip off any shoe polish on them by using rubbing alchol.

then buy leather dye, follow the directions on the package, it is advisable to wear a pair of latex gloves so you dont get the dye on your hands, place each boot to dry on and old newspaper let dry overnite.

now you are ready to polish the boot, i recommend kiwi boot polish, and follow the directions.

hope it helps, (learned those tricks from the army)

you is in basic terms unable to modify the colour of the boots - era. Black boots, notwithstanding if put in bleach, is in basic terms not brown, they'll be gray. notwithstanding you make the most of to ruin the black will endanger the protection of the boot - eating away important sewing, and so on. The very in basic terms way i'd recommend attempting it really is that if you're desiring them for a one-time component like possibly a dance act in a contest. you are able to spray paint them, yet they'll not in any respect be an same and the paint will crack in a short era of time and they'll be stiff and uncomfortable.
