Yes, very easy - I've had a few of my ex-contract phones unlocked.
Call '3' customer services and they will OFICIALLY unlock it for an 'administration fee' of £15. They HAVE TO if the phone is yours or out of contract - it's part of their operating licence.
Really easy....

errrrrr wouldn't go that route if I were you, you can't get them unlocked, they have some sort of navigation system built into the actual phone which prevents unlocking them...trust me on this one my other half went everywhere to get his unlocked & failed misserably. Also don't buy a supposed unlocked 3 phone from ebay or any other site THEY DON'T work, I promise...Best ya stick to 3 or go buy a new sim free phone.

You can get it unlocked, my son had his done at our local street market.
It cost £10 to do and the phone is now unlocked to all networks and works fine.

I tried several dealerships but all told me it could not be done as 3 have stopped it from happening ! That way they have your custom for ever! So suggest you buy a new mobile as even a new sim card will not work. I tried it!
