I agree, Mama Mia was BIG fun but if I went to New York and could see any Broadway show there, it would have to be the original Broadway version of The Lion King.
The set design and costumes alone are worth the price of the ticket.
I've heard adults say that they just sat there with their mouths hanging open in delight.
Mama Mia was great....but the Lion King was a Masterpiece of theatrical genius.
It is Broadway is ALL of its shining glory.

I think Avenue Q is a good suggestions since Avenue Q is frgging hilarious and geared towards adults and is also good for non-theatre and theatre lovers alike.
Mama Mia is good too since you'd be familiar with the songs, but I don't know much about the plot.
Wicked is another good suggestion because its taken broadway by storm, but is suitable for younger audiences and adults alike. I'd say Rent is a good suggguestion, but I personally wouldn't watch it if I'd seen the movie first. (it totally killed Phantom of the Opera for me)
The Lion King is sepcatular, but once again a family affair.
My suggestion is The Drowsy Chaperone because its a broadway show about loving broadway shows that is funny and has great actors and music.

Whatever your choice is, I hope you have a great time!

Mama Mia is very memorable not sure if you have seen it. It is geared for adults and has lots of humor and the music is great. I didn't think I would care for it, but I have now seen it 4 times and love it every time. Enjoy your night whatever you go to see.
