Make SURE it's Vista compatible.

Halo 2 for PC is coming out on the Vista Operating System only. If you want that game, you need to have your specs checked against the Vistas Minimum and Recommended requirements.

Alienware will be sure to let you know if you contact them. Or.. if you can wait til December, the Windows Vista Operating System will be shipping on most new PC's.. (it's the next evolution of Windows).

There ARE levels of compatibility though. Check the Vistas site for further details.

No Vista = no Halo 2, but otherwise, your specs exceed the requirements for the other games you mentioned.

You'd be fine playing those games with those specs. Alienware does make good gaming laptops, but they do come at a premium price. That price is OK for those specs, though a little high.

Dont!! Buy a dell or something. They have XPS for gamming.
Alienware VS Dell: Price, not much difference; time to ship out system, one month vs less than a week; time needed to fix your system in the future: over a month vs less than 24 hours. not to mention alienware will charge you like $99 for shipping, $80 a hour for labor after your system is out of warranty, most likely your most expensive parts will broke down by the time. I was a huge fan of Alienware before, after I spent $3400 on my m7700, not anymore... I didnt give up on them, they gave up on me. check out my link for details if you wanna know more.
