Wow, you're gonna get some really freaky answers to this one, you just turned on the nut-magnet!! The question shouldn't really be "do ghosts exist", despite all the answers you'll get saying they "definitely do" or "definitely don't", because it's such a subjective word with so many different definitions. On one end of the scale you have ghosts defined as "souls of the dead come back to haunt the living" and at the other there's "figments of the imagination". The inbetween stuff is where it gets more interesting, but neither answer can be dismissed or proved. Some theorise that extremes of emotion (paricularly extreme pain or fear, but can also be extreme love or happiness) can somehow become "recorded" on some kind of ether that we don't yet fully understand, another theory is that this ether is merely soundwaves of certain frequencies that trigger something somewhere in that huge expanse of brain tissue that we don't use for anything else. Many believe this "sixth sense" is something we used to have and are gradually losing, but it's no more or less logical to assume it's something we never had, but are learning. So the questions isn't "do ghosts exist" - they do, but there may be more than one explanation for any sort of figure, feeling, chill or unexplained touch or noise than simply either "imagination" or the "souls of the dead", and what we culturally refer to as "ghosts" are probably in fact a whole mix of different phenomena, with imagination being the most frequent of these, but plenty of other possible explanations that range from scientific to spiritual that can be used if you want to.

Just for the record, I've never seen a ghost myself, but there are far too many genuine people who say they have for the answer to ever be as simple as "ghosts don't exist", and as an agnostic I cannot dismiss it.

Ghost exist on a plane that is higher than the one that most people are on. To see and know that ghost exist one must be willing to use an extra 10% of the 5% of the brain that is never use that is where ghost exist

I have to say yes even though I am still sceptical.

We (my wife & myself) saw the ghost of Lanark Hill in Weston Hertfordshire around October 1970. We drove the road many times but only saw her the once.

I think that we may see some sort of replay (like a video replay) when atmospheric conditions are right - the stone tape theory.
When something traumatic occurs , the static charge affects the ground & location itself. Something triggers a replay either partial or sometimes complete.

Many ghosts are no doubt imagination but this did not apply in our case - we both saw what we saw .

I don't know if it was what my mind wanted to see or if it was an actual ghost. Just after my grandfather passed away, I had seen a glowing figure resembling my grandfather telling me he was ok and to tell my grandmother he will be waiting for her. He and I were very close. Again when my husband passed away, I had seen a figure of my husband glowing standing in the hallway telling me he loved me and he will be waiting for me. I don't know if it is what I wanted to see and hear or if it was a real ghost. I had only seen my husband one other time and that was this past July which was 4 yrs after his passing and I had a memorial for him to say good-bye. He was just standing in my doorway blowing me a kiss good-bye. I do have to say that I do believe in ghosts. Some people say it is a figment of your imagination, they are entitled to their opinion but until they can live in my mind they can't convince me that there is no such thing.

This question is asked over and over! Yes I have seen real ghost or spirits! More then once! Yes they do exist! I have only seen a few that bothered me.

I have, at my parents house. We were coming home one night when i was younger and we were all in different cars, there was like 4 cars all together. We all saw the same thing, it was a errie light in the window and then it looked like something floated across the window. These are double door windows that I am talking about. When we got up to the house we all just kind of looked at eachother and were like "did you see that". So when we went inside there were no lights on. And there was also no way it could have been a reflection, we lived in the country and the only lights were our car lights. They could not have reflected off the house because of the position we were in. Pretty wierd!

They are as real as you and me. I've seen them countless times, and heard them. I used to live in a haunted house with my parents and 4 siblings. And we could tell things werent right with the house, but e had to move, and couldn't find anything else...So, we could see and hear them. The story is supposed to be that the father was a drunk and he killed his son (I think the sins name was Andrew) in the back porch fire pit. There was a hole in the wall by my bed, and at night I would hear the father and son talking to eachother, but everynight they said the exact same things as the night before. It was the father telling the son to stop throwing his toys down the hole by my bed. And i shared my bedroom with my 2 of my sisters in the basement, and everynight we would see tall dark shapes (like walking shadows) going to and from the laundry room that was by our room in the basement. One time my little sister saw the son puill back the wall like a curtain and look out at her. Well countless things happened in that house, it would take to long to go into all the details, so heres this.

if you believe in ghosts, good for you. i believe in the paranormal. but dont just start believing just because most of the ppl that answred your question do, believe because of the reasons. have you ever been in a room that suddenly went from warm to cold and it wasnt because of a draught? or seen something that was there one minute, but wasnt there the next? or heard a shriek and then run to the place that you know for sure it came from, but there wasnt anyone there? think, and you'll know for sure.

It is a matter of belief if you believe in ghosts you Will see them, if you don't then of course you will not, do not believe anyone who says that they did not believe in ghosts until they saw one as unconsciously they have always believed in them.

some people will deny it for fear of what people think or will say and they might not be believed
