Assuming that you are not going to be the contractor and that you own the land, it should be between $120K and $140K. This will depend on the finishes you choose. This number will cover normal finishes.

the going rate for contractors is $40.00-60.00 a square foot that is just to build. This doesnt include misc fees and other licenses and permits though. This doesnt include the phase work either.
you are looking at somewhere around $100,000 and higher. Dont go cheap though on the labor part because handy men are not contractors they are unemployed morons that couldnt deal with a boss. They had a van or truck and tought they could do the same work. Be carefull they are scammers.

You aren't strictly clear in "Planning to build" No offense. Is this a DIY project or do you mean you're planning to have a house built?

2000 sq. ft. is a decent size house, and actual construction costs could be anywhere from $50 per sq. ft. to $100, or more.
Obviously even a privately contracted job would have to include profit, and in todays market $200,000 for a 2000 sq. ft. home would be a bargain.
Beyond actual construction costs for labor and materials are code issues, permits and inspections, sewage and electrical connections, owning or buying the plot of land the house will be built on, etc.
