Is Borat a poor man's Yackov Smirnoff?

I think the schtick is just OLD. He's like a cross between Yackov Smirnoff and Dr. Nick from the Simpsons. The sh@# is just old. Why is the media sucking this guy off?

HE IS SO DAM FUNNY. THE ACT HE IS PLAYING IS ACTUALLY VERY FUNNY. ABSOLUTELY HILLARIOUS> "women choose who they have sex with" borat: "WHAT"
